We are very grateful that our high profile patron and ambassadors share our common goal – to raise awareness of neuroblastoma and to raise funds to find a cure to give our kids a chance at life. They understand the importance of children reaching their potential, and share our desire to find a cure so that they can have an opportunity to live and grow, have a normal childhood and grow into adulthood
Patron – Matt Le Nevez, Actor. Matt is a well known and loved Australian Actor who we met at the Ogilvy Foundation Celebrity Charity Golf Day in 2011. Matt was touched by our story and offered to help wherever he could to help us raise awareness of neuroblastoma. Since then, ironically, he has 2 friends whose children have been diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Matt has seen first hand the suffering of our neuroblastoma kids and is determined to help us find a cure. Welcome to our fight Matt, we are delighted to have you on board. Matt now lives in Los Angeles but his career will see him spend time in both the United States and Australia. We look forward to his continued support when he spends time in Australia.
Michael Thwaite, Captain of Perth Glory Football Club. We are very excited to welcome our newest ambassador Michael Thwaite, captain of Perth Glory Football Club. It is Michael's goal to not only support our research personally, but to also explore ways of fundraising, and raising awareness through his contacts as a high profile sportsperson. Michael and his wife Chantelle have 2 beautiful little girls. Chantelle is a sonographer and her passion lies within paediatric oncology, having worked with these little kids all too often.
Wayne Maxwell, Australian Superbike Champion Wayne accepted our invitation to be Ambassador for the 2012 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix. We had the privelege of meeting with Wayne and telling him about the work of our foundation. An elite sportsman and respected motorcycle racing personality, he worked tirelessly helping raise awareness and helping with fundraising during his term as our ambassador.
Geoff Ogilvy, Australian Golfer Geoff and Juli Ogilvy have been personally touched by neuroblastoma. They chose You Are My Sunshine Foundation as the recipient of the Ogilvy Foundation's first Celebrity Charity Golf Day in November 2011 and Geoff accepted our invitation to be an ambassador. Living in the United States makes it difficult for Geoff to be actively involved but we are grateful that he has allowed us to use his high profile as a professional golfer to further our cause.
